Is that really a 100% AI translation? That's impressive and even more so if it really maintains the technical language correctly. Was it as simple as asking AI to translate the file?
Yes, it’s 100% AI. It’s not quite as simple as shoving the text through - there was considerable training for several months. The key breakthrough was to give it a sample of a good translation to model its behavior on, and then to set reinforcing parameters. All that said, it is extremely good. We are not at the point where it is perfect and serious texts have to have human reviewers. There is a need to be alert to hallucination. I had a previous Pieper project where AI hallucinated 4 extra chapters. They were very authentic and would fool lay readers.
