If he is innocent , I pray for mercy and justice in his case , especially in the state of Illinois . If guilty , I pray repentance and reconciliation .

Only two points to add:

1) feds!

2) AI?

Whether innocent or guilty.

"Production" is a pretty looming word in the statement. I only raise the topic because it's possible to "produce" AI content of that sort with no care or meaningful protections whatever from megatech corps.

Here's just one example of how these tech leaders see their product deployments: https://daringfireball.net/linked/2026/01/28/metas-response-to-reuters-report

Twitter has also been in the news adjacent to this with Grok, as well as OpenAI with their reported plans to completely open up AI porn.

But either way this is all very bad. Expecting things to get worse, frankly.

Lord, have mercy upon us.

Overall I do think it's fair to connect this to the LCACA issue.

Your comment might be misconstrued as,

“Well. He just generated AI child porn, so it ain’t that bad”.

When can we say, If these allegations prove to be true, the filthy wicked animal should be sent to the gallows. But first he should be stoned with hardcover editions of LCACA.

We need to be better at recognizing the evil we tolerate in these last days. The LCMS synod should have shut its doors after the publication of that wicked theology. But, alas, we were too busy slumbering in the pews.

Yo, I brought it up because I don't think a lot of people even know the landscape today. We're operating with literally zero information upfront. I linked directly to some Twitter screenshots that give fuzzy context.

I stated, pre-edit, quote, "But either way this is all very bad."

All. Bad.

I also *agreed* with your LCACA framing.

But the entire point of the egregiousness of the LCACA is that it was flattening sin into one plane, and then dismissing it.

I have no idea how the terminology is used or not used in cases like this. I see "production" and it sounds different than "possession". Both bad, and both egregiously bad compared to the many lesser things LCACA flattened them into with.

But also whatever "production" could mean, it is also different than a megatech corp offering a free product to every man, woman, and child that can "produce" such things. Both bad, both egregiously bad compared to the many lesser things LCACA flattened them into with.

And feds are involved. And we live in a regime which hates Christ.

I don't even think the AI angle is likely. But we have no information to go off, as of the morning of Jan 29.

There's a lot of people to hang. Sometimes I don't think everyone grasps that fully either.

Reminder that if he used AI to generate it, photos of YOUR KIDS online could have been used in training the model that he used to make that garbage.

Great evils are upon us.

All commenters: we are Americans and, therefore, nobody is presumed guilty. Wait for all the facts, evidence, and verdict before making rash statements.

Where was your reminder to presume innocence when Rev. Baseley was under fire??? That's right, you deleted all the comments...

Ad Crucem News's avatar

I deleted the comments because people involved lost control of their emotions and started venting. The article said nothing about guilt or innocence re Baseley. Notably, anti-Baseley folks believe he wrote the article, which is false.

Charges against Mohr will be unsealed later today by prosecuting authorities in Missouri. He was arrested in St. Louis, and his home in Springfield, IL, was raided.

Let's stay on topic. There will be plenty of time for post mortems about causes and consequences. Please, let's wait on the facts.

A commenter on Discord states,

"a commenter speculated that production meant AI, not irl videography."

I did not speculate that. In my first post, I said the word production is a looming word, particularly in its severity if the normal understanding is the case. I then go on to note that new technologies being pressed into global mass use by the most powerful corporations in the world, including the United States government, expand the semantic range of the word "production" when used in the same sentence with "cp".

It's not nuancing. I was trying to raise an issue of recent development so that there can be more clarity in speaking on what is going on in the world and in this particular case.

In my second comment I then continued that I don't actually think the AI angle is likely.

I somewhat regret bringing up the topic. But in any case, if it helps anyone stop posting photos of their children online, then I am happy.

Abuse by church leaders is a lot more spiritually deadly than abuse by the Gentiles. If the Federal government has to remove abusers that the church is unwilling to remove, it seems obvious that the church is more corrupt than the Federal government and Christians should concentrate their efforts on their own churches that they actually have a lot more influence over especially since bad government is the result of the church's idolatry. These district Presidents don't hold pastors or anyone accountable. They ignore charges of abuse in congregations and try to do as little as possible.

Ad Crucem News's avatar

This is an excessive generalization refuted by the facts in many districts.

Charles R Wiese's avatar

If some districts were Orthodox they would be calling the hirelings to repentance and pointing out the danger instead of acting like pastoral discipline is ridiculous. I went through the reconciliation process in the English District and as I continued to meet families that.were driven out of the same church, I wrote the bishop and received no response. The Michigan District was also no help and pastoral care became impossible because pastors are part of a clerical caste. Where are these faithful districts and why aren't they separating themselves from the wolves?

Ad Crucem News's avatar

That’s two districts in your experience and telling. Let’s be specific and not cast aspersions.

This is a great time to pray that our Lord, as the greatest of physicians, will heal this pastor, and use that time in confinement to bring him to repentance. The fact that he was not allowed to continue in this sin, but was arrested and given this wake up call, is evidence that God is offering him an opportunity to turn toward the Light. We must pray for our enemies, dear brothers and sisters.

I can't understand why there is so much concern for the secular rights of the accused, yet little concern of the rights of the alleged victims before the law and the spiritual condition of all involved. Spiritually, the disreputation, shame and dishonor brought to Christ and His Church and the LCMS.
