This is very welcome news! I am eager to see how this topic is handled. Far too often in our conversation over the role of the church in society, the tendency is to frame it as a “two kingdom” issue when actually it is a “three estates” issue and the proper vocations of home, church, and government. I will be ordering this immediately.

Further to the prior discussion I discovered I was already reading the Kindle format of this revision. I have since purchased the paper back book and discovered to my delight the wealth of footnotes not included in the Kindle. So it was not for naught. Thank you so much for your patience.

I am looking forward to a U.S. edition. If it's not in the works, it should be.

Hi Jason,

A US edition (which I suppose would be one addressing more specifically the US context and situation) would indeed be an interesting and helpful contribution. Nevertheless, the theology which the church in any context, whether in Canada, US, or anywhere else, needs to confess is exactly the same, as is the basic callings of all vocations instituted by God, even if the challenges they face have nuanced differences here and there. At any rate, it is, I think, helpful for Americans, who perhaps have not yet fallen quite so far down the precipice of anti-Christian secularism as we have here in Canada, to see presently in our land what might be in store for them in America's future, and so to better prepare and brace themselves for it. Thanks for your comment! Paul Williams
