LCMS laity must be on high alert to sleights of hand regarding adiaphora, which deliberately makes the term too hot or too cold, corroding good order, Christian discipline, and evangelical propriety.
WELS too, we’re between ELS and Missouri in some areas but ahead of Missouri in others since there is no formal resistance movement in the WELS to these practices.
Have you read Counterfeit Kingdom: The Dangers of New Revelation, New Prophets, and New Age Practices in the Church? That book helps describe what individuals like me have fled from to refuge in the LCMS - only to bounce from congregation to congregation searching for one not enamored with the trash we left behind.
Have not read it, but have heard of it. Nearly every adult into the LCMS has sought to flee this nonsense, but it is true that has crept into places it should not have, just like Dispensationalism. God bless your search for a congregation that loves pure doctrine.
Great article as always! Issuesetc.org find a church was instrumental in helping me find my church home. We have no screens, use divine service three on a one-year liturgical lectionary.
These articles you write are just gold. They probably sound harsh to many but they are the scalpel that our Synod needs! Praise be to God.
Thank you, that is appreciated.
Tragically, this is also seen in the ELS. Just not quite as brazen. Lord, have mercy.

And God bless you all for your ministry and encouragement to us!
