Significant Updates to The Lutheran Missal App
Behind the scenes of the latest Lutheran Missal App update.
The Lutheran Missal App has deployed significant updates since its launch earlier this month, thanks to input and support from Rev. Evan Scamman, Chief Editor for The Lutheran Missal Project → https://missal.adcrucem.com
Key updates in this release:
2025-2026 liturgical year has been fully populated.
All readings (NKJV) have been incorporated.
OT readings include a link to the Septuagint equivalent.
A Masoretic - Septuagint comparison is included (currently a skeleton AI analysis, and eventually to be replaced by the work of Lutheran scholars).
Information ‘tooltips’ include basic information about the Masoretic and Septuagint for readers unfamiliar with the terms.
‘Tooltips’ have been added to all Scripture references to contextualize them and position them in the Canon.
An explanation of the Church Year has been added.
The Movable Feasts section has been updated to include information about the distribution of Easter Sundays over a 2,500-year cycle. Did you know that April 9th is the most common Easter date, followed by April 10th?
The Hymnody section has been updated with the most popular hymns and improved search returns.
The Biblical Esoterica section has been updated to reflect the full church year.
The global search has been improved to return liturgical events and scriptures.
A detailed “About” section has been included, courtesy of Luther Classical College’s Christian Culture magazine.
There will be a large interval until the next major release, but minor tweaks and updates will continue.

I’m looking forward to this Missal.
I’m also hoping this missal will include Lutheran Hymns and not any “tent revival” or other lesser hymns…
Incredible platform for the church calendar. I would say though, offering both the three year lectionary and the historic would be ideal.
