New Ad Crucem Church Certificates Designed by Sam Novak
Ad Crucem's collaboration with Lutheran Artist Sam Novak continues with the launch of a new church certificates package.
Lutheran artist Sam Novak has collaborated with Ad Crucem over the past two years on several design projects, including the Family Bible Commentary, Without the Shedding of Blood, and the Small Catechism poster set. He has been commissioned to create a unique suite of church certificates exclusive to Ad Crucem.
Until April 9, 2025, churches may pre-order the complete set of certificates at a significant discount. The package affords churches unlimited lifetime printing of the certificates that will be delivered digitally with the church name pre-filled. Individual printed certificates will also be available at a discount during this period.
The first two certificates — baptism and catechism — are available immediately. The complete set of seven certificates will be:

About the Designs
Sam Novak says, “Tangibility and timelessness are very important to me as a designer. My aim is always to create designs that are functional, practical, and beautiful in form. Much of my work is inspired by a love for history and traditional art. I try to incorporate all these things into my work whenever possible.”
“These two certificates are no exception. The featured artworks are hand-drawn before being cleaned up digitally. The aesthetic is a bit of a marriage between Victorian-era prints and 16th-century woodcuts, with a little of the mid-20th century thrown in. The simple color pallet and faux print registration misalignment effect give it a vintage charm and warmth. My vision was to create eagerly framed and displayed certificates for decades instead of filed away and quickly forgotten.”

“Tim and Wanita were gracious enough to send me a few printed samples of the certificates ahead of time, and I must say, I am pleased with the quality of the prints. I think you will be, too. See for yourself…”, adds Sam.
“Part of the fun of a project like this is exploring biblical symbolism and imagery and figuring out how to incorporate those into the designs. There’s a both/and aspect where elements can speak for themselves individually yet can be part of a larger picture or theme that communicates multiple truths together. Since Scripture is that way, I wanted the certificates to be the same.
