LCMS Convention Microsite Traffic Explodes
With the Synod Convention well under way in Phoenix, traffic to the Ad Crucem News microsite has taken off.
The Ad Crucem News LCMS 2026 Convention Microsite has seen explosive growth since the Convention got underway, but the scalable architecture is holding its own.
Over the last three days, the site has received over 1.4 million requests (exceeding 20,000 per hour during the Monday afternoon session) from 36,000 users who consumed 4GB of data. Even the slowest five percent of requests required no more than 62 milliseconds, meaning the heaviest work the site performs on any reader's behalf is finished in about six-hundredths of a second.
The overtures and resolutions pages dominate the site's traffic by an enormous margin. Even under the concentrated demand, the platform assembled a typical overtures page in 34 milliseconds, about one-thirtieth of a second, and the reports and people pages in a mere 8 milliseconds each. The handful of routes showing slower times had relatively low traffic, making any delays insignificant. Overall, not a single request ended in an error despite over 1 million requests since the Convention started.
Some users have experienced moderate rate limiting, but we have tweaked the distinction between static and dynamic assets to increase overall throughput.
