Creating Custom Awards for the Babylon Bee

The Babylon Bee selected Ad Crucem to create unique awards for its first annual awards ceremony

The Babylon Bee, a satirical news site, though often too prophetically true, was on the hunt last year for a vendor to make custom awards for a black tie event (see video below). Ad Crucem won the bid to make twelve fully customized awards in its Littleton, CO workshop.

The bases, sourced from Ad Crucem’s next-door neighbor, were cut from solid American black cherry, sanded to a buttery smooth finish, and treated with tung oil. They support half-inch thick hexagons of laser-cut acrylic cut on Ad Crucem’s industrial laser. Our proposed artwork was also accepted and printed directly onto the acrylic with the in-house UV bed printer. Each base was laser engraved with the Babylon Bee logo and Ad Crucem’s mark.

Ad Crucem previously partnered with the Bee to make and sell custom Christmas ornaments.
