I fully agree with the importance of transparency and the trust that it generates. Unfortunately, the author seems to have only generated an opinion piece with little effort to actually research at least some of the organizations that are named.
For example, LCEF posts its offering circular on its web site each and every year. This document provides the most exhaustive financial, compensation, and board information presentation of any organization associated with Synod, including the LCMS itself. A bit a time on the LCEF web site would have easily revealed this.
While I appreciate Tim's right to his opinion, this piece should more clearly be identified as such, and he would increase, rather than decrease, his personal credibility by presenting well-researched facts rather than inaccurate and poorly researched information. Impaired credibility only decreases trust, and I know that is not Tim's desire.
I am sorry that your credibility relative to being truthful is unimportant to you, Tim. This is particularly alarming since you serve as a regent at CSL and reflects poorly on the institution and the Synod.
As far as our "politics" are concerned, we simply link to publicly available content, exposing the truth to the light of day for the people in the pews of our church body who do not generally learn of such things through regular channels. If that light is bothersome, then perhaps it is those whose articles that we link to that should be changing behaviors and attitudes.
For LWML, even within the districts, some are better at having their information and governance documents online than others. Collectively, we can do better.
Yikes that is bad in terms of transparency. Thanks for the info!

Karsten, which is not your real identity, I don't care about my "credibility" for T&L smear campaigns, or anyone else's.
If you think a regulatory compliance offering doc is good disclosure to the pew dwellers, that's fine. Good luck with your politics!

Blessings to you in the Name of our Risen Savior.
Yes, "Karsten Christiansen"!
