Lutherans Doing Brilliant Long Form Interviews
The On the Line podcast is well worth your time if you care about how our Christian identity meshes with the culture, and where the LC-MS is going.
Rev. Bryan Stecker, Associate Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church & School in Waconia, MN, hosts an outstanding podcast that has too few listeners and viewers. On The Line has unusually high production values for Lutheran media (here’s looking at you, praise bands…) matched to superb quality content. Pr. Stecker's accomplished interviewing style is perfectly matched with a fantastic guest rotation, all of whom can handle the long format genre with aplomb. The experience is enhanced by being willing to touch every third rail in the LC-MS without fear or favor.
If you can’t manage 2-to-3 hour sessions, On The Line has done a fantastic job clipping key segments into digestible bites. The podcast is worth your family’s and church’s time and attention, especially as the LC-MS is transitioning into a new era that has largely shed the Seminex holdovers (although not the whole hangover…), is ready to confront our antinomian infection with more belligerence, and will be dominated by men who believe - without apology or reservation - that 2 Timothy 3:16–17 is true:
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
God bless Pastor Stecker, his team, and his guests for doing the work.
