Absolutely. Young people returning to liturgical, confessional churches aren’t just chasing tradition for tradition’s sake—they’re seeking a church that actually believes what it confesses. A church where the actions of worship align with the words of faith.

Does the pastor treat the body and blood of Christ as a holy mystery or a casual drive-thru meal? Do the hymns carry the weight of doctrine, or are they trimmed down for efficiency? These things matter because they reveal what a church truly believes.

If every aspect of the Divine Service is a confession, then the question is simple: Does this practice align with what we say we believe? Not as a legalistic checklist, but as a way to remain faithful. If the answer is consistently “no,” people notice—and they look elsewhere.

Larry Sanger is not Roman Catholic, as far as I am aware. He has a video dedicated to Eucharistic Symbolism (https://api.bitchute.com/embed/GtqTEuc9M6re/) and has mentioned that he is still unsure of which denomination to join on his blog.

Russell Brand has also not confirmed himself to be RC, as far as I am aware.

I will check. I read the RC affiliation, but will confirm.

No problem. Also, could you send me a link to where you found that Bethany Hamilton is Lutheran? I'd be interested in reading more on that.

"God is clear that mediums and the spirits they conjure, including those manifesting through drug psychosis, are demons under the command of the Devil."

So you are saying that Shawn Ryan did not become a Christian. And if his conversion is suspect, then consider how many others' are in that list. An encounter with a demon might well be involved in a conversion to Christianity *along with a requisite encounter with the Word*, but Christians cannot have "good trips," so while a person might believe in Jesus after a "bad trip," no Christian continues to promote psychedelic experiences after conversion. cf. https://notconformed.show

Notice that the one Missouri conversion is the one believable instance, without any further evidence.

Perhaps a treatment of Phil 1:12-18 is in order, a passage that I am not entirely clear on, and even after trying to recall pastors' comments.

Nonetheless, pretentious conversions happen, and many are false. It's usually easier, not less, to see when you pay attention to what the new "converts" actually say about Christ and what changes actually take place. The incentive to promote a faux Christianity in an already-controlled media figure is immense. There is money to be made and disciples to be gained. And there are narratives and substances to be popularized.

No statement was made about his faith, only the risk he poses to it.

Luke 11:24-26

New King James Version

An Unclean Spirit Returns

24 “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ 25 And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. 26 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.”

Right, this passage is describing a man vacant of the Holy Spirit...

At what point during Ryan's demonic encounters did the unclean spirits ever leave? I've heard of the guy before but haven't bothered to check out his story, but how is this circumstance taken seriously?

I don't understand how a bunch of deep-in-the-system celebrities claiming they're Christian right at a time when the regime is dressing itself in more and more quasi-religious rhetoric is something to be noted with much more than skepticism.

We had this same cycle with Kanye West. I think his shitposting is great, but he's demonstrably under dark influence. Another jester on retainer.

Celebrate the locals we receive. These celebrities are better construed as omens.

A dark syncretic trend in popular/civic religion doesn't bode well for the Christian brotherhood. Rather we ought to be doubling down on taking pains to distinguish and care for the specificity of our Confession. Not "stealing sheep" but rescuing anyone drifting awash in or actually taken by this new world spirit, bringing them aboard our great little ship. Not coddling or preening over every latest claim in the news stream.

Some of us mock at Luther predicting the end while we are sitting here centuries later. But consider what actually did occur a short time after him.

Scripture is clear. Anyone who dabbles in the occult opens the door to demon oppression and possession. Any Christian who engages with occultic forces risks losing their salvation. Simple as. No need for drama. Believe what Scripture says.

Good article. It's a great problem for all churches to solve high rates of apostasy. Most seem to leave because the temptations of the world are far more enticing than they ever have been. Converts to the different branches are mostly people that would have stayed if they found their home church was more true, essentially retention of true believers rather than new growth. Also it remains to be seen how long converts will last as their impression of the Church is tested against the Church in actuality. Many young men can get frustrated when they find the Church is not the cudgel against their political foes and the panacea to all their personal problems.

Thank you, and that's well said. The pastors have a massive task in dealing with these men's alienation and softening it with Christ's desire for our lives so that the fruits of the Spirit may flourish. The corollary is that if the alienation is not dealt with or they are pushed away for lacking the preferred soft focus credentials for converts, they will be tempted to dark outcomes.
