205 Days To Reconcile an LCMS Pastor Modeling a Transgender Stole in the Chancel?

A pastor and his congregation publicly renounce what the Evangelical Lutheran Church believes, teaches, and confesses.

A fortnight has passed since we first reported a heavily ripe scandal at an LCMS congregation in the Southeastern District. The scandal involves the pastor modeling a transgender stole in the chancel, and the congregation and church school promoting homosexual and transgender ideology. Additionally, they have stocked Islamic books in the school library that proclaim Allah as God and that Muhammad is his greatest prophet, as well as another book featuring a Muslim boy cross-dressing as a girl.

The Synod President issued a letter that same day stating that the issue was being handled. However, it is now necessary to provide more context about what the complainants brought forward and when. Misinformation and disbelief about what has been going on have spread.

There is an attitude, especially among the old bulls of the Synod and ALPB, that the Synod should be exempt from public scrutiny of public problems. Bereans, beware, you’re not welcome, especially by the chin tuggers ever so worried about Matthew 18 and the Eighth Commandment:

SED President, Rev. Harmon, responded quickly, effectively washing his hands of any meaningful engagement and glaringly avoiding addressing the LGBTQiA2S problems.

By June 12, 2025, President Harmon declared the matter “closed”. However, the images of Pr. Fredericksen's modeling of the transgender stole for a transgender parishioner remained online until Ad Crucem News alerted Synodical leadership to the impending story. Only then was an attempt made to scrub images and the website of the transgender artist and parishioner of the church, who created the stole that Pr. Fredericksen posed with - was taken down. There are still cached images of the modeling project online.

Quo Vadis?

In President Harrison’s letter about LCMS ecclesiastical supervision, statements were made that are contradicted by the correspondence chain above:

1. DP Harmon copied President Harrison on his rapid decision - “the matter is considered resolved” on June 12, 2025 (see above).

   1. President Harrison had already been copied on DP Harmon’s correspondence from May 16 (see above).

   2. It was not VP Esget who first brought the matter to the Synod President’s attention.

2. It is evident from the correspondence that neither the church nor the district followed the Synod’s prescribed processes for reconciliation.

3. The DP and Church do not leave room to believe progress was or would be made to address matters of apostatization.

Public Apostasy

OSLCS’s pastor and congregation exhibit a pattern of public renunciation of the Christian faith akin to that of the ELCA and other mainline churches. It defies explanation that consequential ecclesiastical discipline has yet to be achieved, or that this congregation was ever allowed to enter this heretical state.
